Wood Turning by Jim Grant
Jim Grant has been turning foraged wood pieces and burls into vases, bowls and other various containers for 15 years. Because the materials are foraged rather than hand-selected, Jim works with a number of wood varieties including maple, black walnut and elm. However, his favorite is cherry wood for its sweet smell on the lathe.
While he most often lets the wood tell him what it wants to be, Jim also does one-of-a-kind commission pieces on request.
Wrenn Pottery
I create functional porcelain pieces. All work begins on the wheel and is altered by hand. Work is microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. All my work is made from high-fired porcelain clay and fired in an electric kiln to cone 10 (~2350F). I infuse my work with a sense of movement; the soft stroke of the hand giving comfort and thanks through use. My pots will engage the user visually and tactilely through the daily rituals of serving, preparing, and sharing food.
